The Lonely Seagull

The seagull is probably the bird that should be the Florida state bird, instead of the Blue Jay. These birds are practically domesticated and very tame. They have lost most fear of humans, living beside them very comfortably. They feed off of our trash and hand outs. As a kid I loved feeding the birds at the beach. A whole flock would gather around me as I shared my potato chips. Some would come right up to me and take the chip right out of my hand. It was great fun. As an adult, however, I have since learned that a flock of seagulls makes a great mess as they defecate and regurgitate without shame…. and sometimes on the hand that is feeding them.

Ahoy

Patti Jo Attwood moved to Southwest Florida from Chicago, Illinois as a small child. A resident of Florida since 1965 Patti Jo intimately knows the landscape and culture of Southwest Florida and has been documenting its growth and development in her pictures. Founder and Sole Proprietor of Attwood Images, Patti Jo, has been a photographer for over 20 years following in the footsteps of her father in photography. Now, a mother of five children and grandmother of two she has learned for herself how important it is to record those milestones in life. Her images have inspired countless words to those she has photographed. She envisions sunsets, beaches and the people who view them. Her work can be seen at www.attwoodimages.com.

Photographer, however, is not the only hat that Patti Jo wears. In these tough economic times she has put to use her other talents. She also owns an online travel website and wears the hat of travel agent. Her photography brings her into contact with many brides and grooms who go on honeymoons or either have family flying in from out of town for the “big day.” You can find her travel site by going to www.attwoodtravel.com.
